Are DermaNova® products suitable for pregnant women?
The DermaNova® Active liquid products products are so-called topical products which work on the surface of the skin. Therefore, the liquid DermaNova® products can be used by pregnant women.
The DermaNova® Active Care Supplement, is catagorised as a food supplement, hence it should not be taken if pregnant or breast feeding.
What are the active ingredients?
DermaNova® products contain different natural compounds of highest available quality and grade. These natural compounds are in total the active ingredients.
As single compounds these substances are less effective, it is only the special mixture process (patented) that makes them active.
Can the liquid DermaNova® products induce skin irritation?
DermaNova® products have been tested for irritation of the skin. Within these patch tests no irritation of the normal skin was observed. As it is normal for skin products, there are some persons with very sensitive skin. The skin of these persons can show an adverse reaction as it is also known for other cosmetics, like e.g. normal moisturiser cream.
How should I test the skin for a reaction to DermaNova® liquids?
To test the reaction of the skin towards the DermaNova® liquids, a small area of the skin (size of a coin) should be treated with the product for 2 – 3 days. If there is no adverse reaction of the skin, the cream can be used for the affected areas of the skin.
Can I use DermaNova® liquids for the treatment of the scalp?
In case of flaky scalp DermaNova® Active Scalp Care Shampoo should be used for at least 3-4 weeks. The shampoo is very effective on flaky scalp while DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream is too greasy for application on the scalp, but combinations of shampoo and cream has been seen highly effective in many cases.
What to do in case of allergy?
As DermaNova® products are rich in natural compounds, allergic reactions can not be excluded 100%. Therefore, we recommend a test for possible allergic reactions by application of the product to a small area of the skin (size of a coin) for 2 – 3 days. If a person will react by an allergy, this will show up at the above recommended test.
What induces an initial burning when applied to sensitive skin?
As the DermaNova® cream contain urea and active vitamins, initial burning of the skin may occur to persons who have very sensitive skin. Normally this burning lasts only for a few minutes during the first 2 or 3 days of application.
When DermaNova® cream is used on sweaty areas of the skin – e.g. armpit or groin - the sensation of initial burning due to urea will be stronger. Therefore, DermaNova® cream should be used with caution for the treatment of these sweaty areas.
Is the DermaNova® Skin Cream safe?
DermaNova® Cream have been controlled regarding risk. In many countries this risk assessment is mandatory and will give the necessary warnings that needs to be printed on the box and within the directions for use.
How long should I use DermaNova® Skin Care products?
DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream has been developed to bring back to normal the appearance of irritated or affected skin. Therefore, DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream should be used 3 times a day as long as the skin is dry and itchy, and after-wards application as required to keep the skin in good condition.
After 3 – 5 days the skin turns red, is this normal?
When affected skin is treated with DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream the skin is activated and the blood flow is stimulated - this is actually a clear sign that the Cream is active. Therefore, the white or silvery skin turns to red. This redness is not due to an inflammation or irritation of the skin, and will disappear with continued use.
Does the cream contain corticoids?
DermaNova® products do not contain any corticoid.
Which part of the body should not be treated?
Because of the compound urea, sweaty areas of the body should not be treated with DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream products. Application of DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream on these areas – e.g. armpit, groin etc. – may give a strong burning which can last more than few minutes.
What should I do if I get DermaNova® products in the eyes?
Rinse the eyes with clear water to wash out the watersoluble urea. If irritation last seek doctor for check up.
What happens if a child accidentally drinks any liquid DermaNova® product?
No compound of the liquid DermaNova® products is toxic and will not cause harm if ac-cidently ingested. Furthermore, the DermaNova® liquids tastes very bitter and therefore, under normal circumstances, only a very small amount of the cream would in a given case be ingested accidentally.
Is the DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream sterile?
The DermaNova® Active Skin Care Cream is not sterile as defined within regulations for sterile products for use in hospitals. But the cream contains wide spectered preser- vatives. Therefore, the cream may also be used on sensitive parts of the skin, as long as the cream are stored and used under normal clean and non-contaminating conditions.
How should I store the DermaNova® Skin Care products?
Under normal conditions the DermaNova® Skin Care products should be stored at room temperature. That means at 20-25 °C.
How often should I apply the DermaNova Skin relief Cream?
Best results will be achieved, when the cream is used 3 times a day.
